Pets at Home has achieved double the orders it anticipated through its click and collect service.

The service was implemented last year, as part of the move onto a new e-commerce platform, to allow customers to reserve online and collect from one of Pets at Home’s 275 stores.

Pets at Home director of multi-channel Matt Stead said: “The process to implement “Click and Collect” was pretty straightforward and results so far demonstrate that the investment was worthwhile.”

In preparation for the service, Pets at Home upgraded its in-store systems, implementing BT Expedite’s Integrated Store multichannel software. The click and collect service was achieved by integrating stores to the existing web channel and eCommerce platform, implemented by ERP and CRM systems provider Salmon.

The service allows customers to check what products are in stock in stores and order items to be ready for collection after two working hours. Customers pay for the items on collection.
