Ex-Selfridges chief executive joins as non-exec
Online fashion retailer Asos has appointed former Selfridges chief executive Peter Williams to its board as a non-executive director.
Williams said: 'I am delighted to join such a tremendously refreshing and exciting business. I think they are really a creative and exciting bunch of people. It's obviously quite a small company, but its growth has been very rapid and it's still growing.'
Williams has worked in retail for more than 20 years, firstly at Freemans catalogue and then for Selfridges. He hopes to bring the wide range of experience he gathered working in home shopping and department stores to Asos.
Since leaving Selfridges, Williams has worked with private equity firms in and around the retail sector.
Asos also announced the appointment of head of merchandising Robert Bready to the board as retail director.
