Uniqlo is now one of the highest-paying retailers in the UK, according to new Retail Week data.

The fashion retailer, which has been rapidly expanding its store estate, is now paying frontline shop floor workers the same rate as Aldi – Britain’s highest paying supermarket.
As noted in Retail Week’s retail pay index 2025, Uniqlo’s rate of pay per hour for workers aged over 21 is £12.85, a 5% increase on the £12.15 per hour it paid in 2024, and marking its third pay increase in the last three years. Some flagship stores, including Edinburgh Princes Street, carry a higher rate of £13.15, while Uniqlo workers in London make £13.85.
The rise puts Uniqlo among the highest paying retailers in the UK, alongside the likes of EE, Aldi and Zara in the top 10.
Uniqlo also increased the scope of benefits it offers its staff over the last year, adding an equal enhanced pay scheme for parents taking leave for the birth or adoption of a child; an enhanced annual leave allowance of 34 days, including bank holidays; and £300 net pay towards clothing annually.
The retailer said it aims to become the “employer of choice” in a competitive fashion sphere.
