The founder of UK-based Korean beauty retailer Skin Cupid has said she wants to open stores “all over the UK”, Retail Week can confirm.
Speaking at the GRO summit in London, founder Melody Yuan discussed her ambition to open all over the UK “in a considered way”, following the launch of its London flagship in September 2025.
The Skin Cupid store on London’s Charing Cross Road has “outperformed expectations”, and now Yuan wants to explore more opportunities in the country.
“We do a lot of data collection and research on our customers and seeing where those clusters of customers are,” she explained.
“Now, we’re looking towards UK expansion. (We’re) open to opportunities in London as well, but really looking at the likes of Manchester and Glasgow, which are our tier one opportunities, and some other UK regional cities.”
Following the London store, she added that the group’s retail strategy is to “replicate that flagship style” while personalising it to each region it opens in.
“We want to probably have one or two sites per city and really replicate the flagship style to give our customers that experience.”
The store expansion plans arrive at the same time it was revealed that John Lewis is opening three Skin Cupid shop-in-shops in its Cambridge, Kingston and Leeds stores.
Yuan said the group was “thrilled” to partner with John Lewis, adding: “We cannot wait to bring our expertise, brands and community spirit to shoppers across the UK.
