Zero-hours contracts give staff flexibility to plan other responsibilities

Retail industry leaders have urged the government not to regulate flexible jobs out existence, as it pushes forward with reforms which would scrap zero-hours contracts.

The British Retail Consortium issued its warning on Sunday, labelling the government’s proposed reforms “poorly designed” and saying they could jeopardise employment opportunities for numerous cohorts of workers.
