Pets at Home has poached Wilkinson’s head of buying Peter Pritchard as its new trading director.

Pritchard, who joins in January, will replace Catriona Marshall who is leaving the business to “pursue other opportunities and challenges”. She has been seen as a key figure in Pets at Home’s growth and will leave at the end of December after being with the retailer for seven years.

Pets at Home said Pritchard has “extensive experience” across food and non-food over a 20-year career that has spanned Asda, Iceland, Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer.

Wilkinson said that it was conducting a recruitment process to appoint a new head of buying, ac nd that in the interim acting head of buying Frankie Adams would fill the position.
