Notonthehighstret.com has snapped up Asos’ technology director Richard Zubrik to take on the role of chief technology officer.

Zubrik, who has been at Asos since 2016 and was appointed as technology director in March, will join the gifting etailer in January.

He will report to newly-appointed chief executive Barrie Seidenberg in his role, which will focus on developing and scaling the firm’s ecommerce platform.

Zubrik will take the reins from interim chief technology director Jack Bolles, who will see the business through the upcoming Christmas period.

He has also held various roles at Tesco over a seven year period, culminating as head of technology for its Direct and F&F websites in 2015.

Seidenberg said: “Richard’s background and experience delivering world-class customer experiences at organisations with similar ecommerce needs to ours at Notonthehighstreet made him a stand-out candidate.

“Technology is a key driver for our future success. Richard demonstrated that he had the expertise and leadership ability, as well as the technical skills, to help us modernise our platform and ensure it reflects best practice ecommerce.”

Zubrik said: “Notonthehighstreet has a complex legacy system which is ripe for innovation. I am looking forward to working with the team to develop and scale the platform so that it not only offers an outstanding and engaging experience for Notonthehighstreet’s customers, but that it also provides the functionality and systems needed to allow partners to fulfil their businesses’ potential.”
