Moss Bros trading director Ciaran McCloskey has left the menswear retailer after two years.

Moss Bros appointed McCloskey last year as part of a wider restructuring of the Moss Bros board.

Chief executive Brian Brick said he is looking for a replacement for the role but that the position would not necessarily be a board appointment going forward.

It is unclear if McCloskey has another job to go to.

McCloskey joined Moss Bros in June 2007 as director of business development and retail operations for the Moss division of the company.

Prior to this he was group trading director at Mappin & Webb and Watches of Switzerland and held senior positions at Matalan and before that at the Burton Group.

Moss Bros recorded first-half losses of £3m in the six months to August 1 compared with a £2.2m loss for the same period last year.
