Farfetch has hired former The Outnet president Stephanie Phair as its first chief strategy officer.

At Farfetch, Phair will lead strategic direction on innovation, M&A and corporate development.

Phair was president of The Outnet until February and was part of the executive team at Net-a-Porter from 2009 to 2015. She previously worked for American Vogue, Issey Miyake and pre-owned luxury accessories website Portero.

An independent director at luxury brand Moncler, known for its padded winter jackets, she also advises personal shopping platform Operator.

Farfetch chief executive José Neves said: “Her extensive knowledge of the global ecommerce landscape, along with the operational and strategic vision that comes from having built-up and scaled a global business, will be a vital asset to ensure sustainable long-term growth as we continue to expand.”

Farfetch has been operating bullishly recently: it acquired luxury London boutique Browns in 2015 and raised £76m in a round of financing in May.
