Urban clothing retailer Fenchurch has appointed Gap’s Alexis Potter as its first retail manager, as it embarks on a European store expansion.

Potter has responsibility for overseeing Fenchurch’s expansion strategy. Before joining Fenchurch in September, Potter was at Gap for eight years, as the fleet operations officer.

Fenchurch managing director John Cockburn said the retailer plans rapid retail expansion that will include Fenchurch stores in the UK and Europe.

Potter’s appointment comes ahead of two store openings next month, including a new retail concept in Glasgow’s St Enoch Centre, featuring bespoke furniture, DJ decks and dedicated exhibition areas for street art. A store in Bristol’s Horsefair is also opening next month, taking its store count to four.

Baby and maternity retailer Mamas & Papas, as well as outdoor retailer Trespass, will also opens shops in St Enoch Centre before Christmas, while the Disney Store is to refit its existing store to bring it in line with its latest format.
