Boots’ chief marketing officer is stepping down from his role following a four and a half year stint.

Pete Markey joined Boots in February 2021 as chief marketing officer, with the responsibility of driving the strategic direction and performance of the health and beauty retailer’s marketing activities throughout the business.
He’s also held senior marketing roles at Aviva, Post Office, RSA, The AA, and British Gas. Before joining Boots, he was chief marketing officer at TSB Bank.
In a LinkedIn post, Markey said: “Boots is an incredible business and it’s been an honour to work on such an amazing brand with such a talented group of people over the past four and a half years.
“I’m excited about the next chapter in my career and wish everyone in the Boots UK and Irish business continued success.”
A Boots spokesperson added: “Pete Markey has stepped down from his role after four and a half years leading our marketing function.
“Pete has made a significant contribution during his time with us, leading our marketing transformation and delivering many creative campaigns alongside our talented marketing team. We would like to thank him for his support and wish him well for the future.”
