Partners The Stationer, one of the stable of brands run by Theo Paphitis, is on the acquisition trail again with a requirement for 30 new stores in shopping centre and high streets over the next 18 months.

Paphitis bought Partners in 2001, and he has continued to run it as a separate brand from his Rymans operation. ‘After three years of successfully trading Partners we are now ready to improve its position through a selective store-opening programme,’ he said. The five-year target is 180 stores.

‘We have invested more than£7 million in our operations, warehouse and distribution facilities in Crewe. The increased capacity completes the infrastructure for our planned expansion.’

Stores have already opened at Huddersfield and the White Rose centre in Leeds, bringing the portfolio to 84 outlets.
