US luxury department store operator Nordstrom has opened up its website to UK shoppers.

The Seattle-based chain has launched a site, at shop.nordstrom.com/internationalshopping, with the functionality to process payments in 11 currencies - including the euro, British pound, Swedish krona and Danish krone - and made shipping available to 30 countries.

The move mirrors that of UK retailers such as Next and Arcadia, which have opened up their sites to international shoppers.

Nordstrom Direct president Jamie Nordstrom said the change would also make it easier for domestic shoppers to send fashion products to friends and family overseas.
