Fashion retailer latest to stock ethical products
High street fashion chain Oasis is to stock a range of organic clothes in response to demand from eco-conscious consumers.

The Future Organic line of jeans, jackets and T-shirts will be toxin-free and certified organic. The collection of eight garments includes denim and jersey in blue, mint and grey colours.

Its April launch reflects a growing ethical trend among high street clothing chains. M&S will stock Fairtrade cotton T-shirts and socks from next month. Topshop is also considering stocking garments made from ethically traded cloth.

Designer Stella McCartney's limited edition H&M collection included a 100 per cent organic T-shirt.

Oasis design director Nadia Jones said: 'We recognise there has been a shift in consumer spending towards the purchasing of organic products. There is a more environmentally conscious consumer out there who is looking for organically produced clothing.'

The denim used in Future Organic garments is sourced from Turkey and the jersey from Portugal.
