O2 plans Oxford Street flagship and 100 stores

Mobile phone retailer O2 plans to open up to 100 UK stores over the next two years.

The retailer will also unveil a state-of-the-art flagship on London's Oxford Street within the next fortnight.

Sales and retail director Mark Stansfeld said the 7,750 sq ft (720 sq m) boutique-style shop will make O2's products and service range more accessible by offering an interactive customer experience.

Features include a gaming zone in the basement and dedicated area for corporate clients.

Stansfeld said O2 will increase its retail presence from 205 to 240 stores this financial year and 'probably grow to 270 to 300 stores' next year.
