Communications supremo planning next step
Woolworths communications director Nicole Lander has left the pick 'n' mix-to-toys retailer, following a review by the company.

Woolworths chief executive Trevor Bish-Jones said: 'Nicole's skills have been invaluable over the past four and a half years and we are desperately sorry to see her go. She has made a huge contribution to our company. Under her inspired and creative leadership, our reputation has been in very good hands.'

Lander said: 'I have enjoyed my time with Woolworths and have fulfilled both the personal and professional goals I set out to achieve. I have already had a number of interesting discussions and will be making a decision soon. The remaining team are fully equipped to manage the PR requirements for the company going forward.'

Prior to Woolworths, Lander, who is a regular Retail Weekcolumnist, spent seven years in the corporate affairs team at Tesco, rising to become head of international corporate communications.
