Trio of anchors in place for 1 million sq ft Eagle Centre
Next has signed up as the third anchor for Westfield and Hermes' extension to the Eagle Centre in Derby, which will turn the mall into a 1 million sq ft destination.

At the same time, Debenhams and Marks & Spencer have confirmed their intention to relocate within Derby into the development. The move will enable Debenhams to increase its presence in the city, trading from a three-level store totalling 127,000 sq ft (11,800 sq m). Marks & Spencer will take 81,700 sq ft (7,590 sq m) of retail space and Next has signed for a 47,000 sq ft (4,366 sq m) unit.

The three retailers will join existing major tenants including Bhs, Boots, Sainsbury's and Woolworths in the extended Eagle Centre, together with Argos, WHSmith and Wilkinson, which will be relocated as part of the redevelopment.

Completion is scheduled for Christmas 2007 and Dalgleish is the letting agent.
