Eve Sleep appoints chief marketing officer

The mattress brand has hired Cheryl Calverley for the role, who joins from The AA where she has held the role of marketing director since 2017.

Prior to her time at The AA, where she has been since 2015, Calvert has held roles at businesses including Birds Eye Iglo and Unilever.

Calverley will report to Eve Sleep chief executive James Sturrock in her new role.

Sturrock said: “With a wealth of consumer brand experience, Cheryl is a natural fit for the business and the delivery of Eve’s refocused growth strategy.

“Her proven track-record in developing and managing high profile brands will be crucial to further differentiating our brand positioning, enhancing customer experience and helping to achieve our ambition of becoming Europe’s leading sleep and well-being brand.”

Asos directors buy shares

Asos chief executive Nick Beighton and chair Adam Crozier bought shares in the etailer following its profit warning, demonstrating their faith in its future.

The pair each bought shares worth £100,000 yesterday, City AM reported. The purchases came after £1.3bn was wiped off Asos’s value after its shock trading update on Monday.

Central England Co-op reveals investment total

Central England Co-op said it has invested £13.4 million over the course of 2018.

The retailer has opened 10 new food stores and six new funeral homes, and relaunched another 22 funeral sites and 30 shops.

Further investment is planned for next year.
