Ocado chooses Segro site for Purfleet CFC

Ocado Retail, the official name for the joint venture between Ocado and Marks & Spencer, has agreed a deal with warehousing and logistics firm Segro, to establish its fifth customer fulfilment centre in Purfleet.

The deal will see a 304,355 sq ft depot established at Segro’s Logistics Park Purfleet, which the retailer said would create 1,500 new jobs and help” meet demand from its increasing customer base to the East of London”.

Work is due to begin on the construction of the site later this month.

Group head of real estate at Ocado, Ian Starling, said: “We are delighted to again be working with SEGRO as we prepare to build our fifth CFC in Purfleet. These are exciting times for Ocado.com, now a joint venture between Ocado Group and M&S, and this latest CFC will provide new capacity to bring an even better offer to UK customers.”
