7.01am Big four canned in Which? survey

The big four grocers have slumped to the bottom of a customer satisfaction poll by consumer champion Which?

Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons all scored poorly in the survey, which assesses the grocers on value, customer service and own brand products.

A spokesman for Asda, which finished bottom of the pile following the poll of 12,000 consumers, said: “Whilst we’re disappointed to see that some Which? readers haven’t had a good experience with us, other independent surveys, such as YouGov, rate Asda as the second most recommended supermarket and our own measures show that Asda shoppers are enjoying shopping with us more and more each year.”

7.18am Apple plots credit card launch

Apple is planning to launch a credit card that would link to users’ iPhones and offer special features on its Apple Wallet app.

The tech giant is joining forces with Goldman Sachs to launch the credit card, which will run on the MasterCard network, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Apple’s credit card would allow users to set spending goals and manage their balances in a similar way to card providers such as Monzo and Revolut.

It is thought that users will also earn 2% cash back on purchases on Apple products and services.
