Government appoints cost-of-living tsar as inflation climbs


The government has appointed Just Eat founder David Buttress to work with companies including grocers to support consumers as the cost-of-living crunch bites.

Buttress, who has taken the role on a voluntary basis, will meet supermarket groups including Waitrose and sports organisations today at a meeting hosted by education secretary Nadhim Zahawi to discuss how businesses can help low-income families.
