Former M&S womenswear chief Horspool picked
Value fashion retailer New Look has appointed Barbara Horspool as trend director.

Horspool will join the retailer in mid-March to head the trend team, providing creative input and trend direction across womenswear and childrenswear. She will report to buying, merchandising and design managing director Paul Marchant.

Marchant said: 'I am delighted that Barbara is joining New Look and excited at the prospect of working with her. She has a wealth of experience and a strong background in design and will play a key role in overseeing the application of trends across the business.'

Horspool was previously head of womenswear design at Marks & Spencer. Prior to that, her roles have included international design director at Etam, European design director at Esprit and head of design at both Dorothy Perkins and Bhs. She has also acted as consultant for Adams and Coppernob.

New Look has 568 stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland and has a 4.3 per cent share in the UK womenswear market.
