Automated laundry machine operator Me Group International announced it had agreed a new deal with Asda for its machines to be operated on the retailer’s sites.

Visitors to Asda will soon be able to wash their clothes while they shop using te group’s Wash.Me laundry machines. Me Group aid that the agreement meant its machines will be rolled out across Asda’s network of stores, including superstores, supermarkets and petrol forecourts.

The ambition is to roll out 700 across the country, with self-service machines available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The laundry machines are large capacity, with both 9kg and 20kg drums available covering both washing and drying.

“We’re always looking for new ways to make life easier for the customers who shop with us, particularly by strengthening the breadth of services that meet their needs under one roof,” said Asda Express vice-president foodservice and fuel Joseph Sutton.

“This large‑scale rollout of Wash.Me units gives customers a quick, convenient and great‑value way to tackle their laundry while they shop. We’re pleased to be working with Me Group on this significant partnership and look forward to seeing the benefits it brings to customers across the UK.”

Me Group currently operates 7,600 laundry machines across the world, including 1,500 in the UK. Its machines are already installed at some Morrisons supermarkets across the country.
