Inditex boss hired as deputy chief executive
Mosaic Fashions has appointed Mike Shearwood as deputy chief executive.

Shearwood, who was previously the managing director of Inditex Group in the UK and Ireland, will assume responsibility for Oasis, Principles and Warehouse. He will be appointed to the corporate board and report to chief executive Derek Lovelock.

Following the acquisition of Rubicon Retail in September, which significantly increased the retailer's size and portfolio, the group said it identified the need to enlarge and strengthen the senior management team.

Lovelock said: 'I am extremely pleased to be welcoming Mike as he joins the team at Mosaic. Over the past few years we have seen an extraordinary change to the group, not only through acquisitions, but also through the domestic and international growth of the business. Mike brings exceptional industry knowledge and operational expertise that will be important as we look to the next stage of development for the business.'

Mosaic Fashions is the parent company of eight fashion brands including Coast, Karen Millen, Oasis, Odille, Principles, Shoe Studio, Warehouse and Whistles. It operates from 1,891 stores and concessions, mainly in the UK and Ireland, but also has some stores in Europe and the US.
