Morrisons is to replace four different EPoS systems with an integrated system from Retalix.

It has chosen Retalix’s applications for its main store point of sale – including a self checkout application, its quick-service restaurants and fuel sites.

The grocer currently uses four different systems to cope with the different functionality needed at its checkouts, restaurants, dry cleaning counters and petrol stations.

Morrisons IT director Gary Barr said that the retailer has chosen Retalix because it required a proven world-class system, and that the single system would best meet its needs.

He added: “The Retalix system provides scalability and flexibility to support stores of varying sizes with different selling formats and is rich with features and functionality. [It] will help us deliver a better, enhanced shopping experience.”
