Trade unions and grocer agree to talk
Tomorrow's threatened strike at Morrisons' distribution depots has been called off.

The grocer and representatives from the TGWU and GMB unions will meet the week after next to try to negotiate a solution.

Industrial action had loomed when it emerged Morrisons was considering the closure of three depots at Bristol, Aylesford and Warrington.

A spokesperson for Morrisons said: 'It's definitely a relief and we are glad that a resolution has been made.'

GMB National Officer for wholesale distribution Jude Brimble said: 'The strike threat forced Morrisons to put their plans on the table and to concede national bargaining. We have called off the strike and there are further talks planned for October 11.'
