Grocer to appoint four non-executives
Morrisons is in talks with Lloyds TSB finance director Helen Weir, according to the Financial Times.

The newspaper reported that Weir (pictured), who was finance director at Kingfisher until last year and previously finance director at B&Q, met Sir Ken Morrison last week to discuss the possibility of joining Morrisons as a non-executive director.

Speculation has been rife since Morrisons deputy chairman David Jones told shareholders at the retailer's annual general meeting last week that the company was seeking four non-executives and to expect appointments in four to six weeks. Jones pointed out that he was keen to appoint women to some of the positions.

Jones is also believed to have approached former Asda executive Archie Norman.
