Molton Brown has rolled out an EPoS system to its global store estate to improve data visibility.

The Retail Pro EPoS system is being used in 120 stores and concessions globally.

Molton Brown chose Retail Pro because it wanted a system that could be rolled out to all stores and supported locally by one supplier.

The system has replaced dispersed and unconnected systems and provides visibility of stock and sales information. The system is controlled by Molton Brown from its head office in the UK.

The company has also been able to improve customer data by monitoring sales and promotions.

Using the additional data, Molton Brown has set up key performance indicators that allow it to make decisions more quickly.

In addition, an accompanying Chip and PIN system has cut transaction times from 30 seconds to between three and five.

Molton Brown IT director Tanay Taank said that the company was pleased with the results and, in particular, the support it had received from its supplier, because Retail Pro had proved to be highly responsive.

In the coming year, Molton Brown will use the system to make further changes to its retail operation.

It will launch a gift-card programme and also plans to integrate its transactional web site with the system to provide an online reservation and store pick-up service.
