Sir Michael Parkinson is the latest celebrity to lend his voice to Marks & Spencer’s Christmas food ads.

The former chat show host’s voiceover will be heard until December 23, promoting the retailer’s festive food range.

Parkinson is the fifth celebrity to feature in the new ads which in September replaced the “This is not just food” campaign.

David Jason was hired to discuss the ingredients for an Italian Risotto, while Joan Collins promoted Christmas party food.

The current offering features Parkinson describing his ideal Christmas turkey lunch, compared to his wife Mary’s choice of roast gammon.

M&S executive director of marketing Steve Sharp said: “Our new Christmas ad really gives viewers a flavour of the wonderful food we have on offer at M&S this Christmas.

“And such a well-loved British celebrity, Michael Parkinson, was the perfect choice to describe what Christmas food stands for at M&S.”
