Latest format to be rolled out by Christmas
Marks & Spencer is opening a store at London's Victoria today, following a trial of the format at Shoreham.

Analysts said the 26,700 sq ft (2,480 sq m) shop at the Cardinal Place development highlights a positive step for the retailer. Investec analyst Matthew McEachran said: 'The store launch should further increase confidence that management is getting on with the M&S turnaround.'

M&S plans to open stores using the format in Coventry and Tamworth by the end of next month. In addition, more than 30 outlets are expected to have the new look by Christmas, either through store openings or refurbishment.

Pricing, signage and clear departmentalising of clothing categories combine to make shopping easier. M&S's latest Per Una lingerie range is displayed prominently.

Other retailers in Cardinal Place include Accessorize and Zara.
