Marks & Spencer has today launched a service which allows customers to recycle unwanted electrical items in exchange for M&S vouchers.

Customers using the site - www.marksandspencer.com/recycle - enter the details of the electrical item, such as make, model and condition, and the value of that item is then calculated. Customers can then opt to receive M&S vouchers or donate the amount to one of the retailer’s charity partners.

Devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras, lap tops and sat navs will be accepted.

Customers can send off the gadget to M&S recycling, in a pre-paid enveloped. For laptop recycling M&S offers a free courier service.

M&S Direct director Dave Hughes said: “By recycling these unwanted items we can help reduce electrical waste, provide those in need with cheaper access to technology, raise funds for good causes and consumers can even use the vouchers to get money off their next gadget upgrade.”
