Frasers Group’s luxury store Flannels has unveiled plans to open 15 new stores in the next five years.

The luxury retailer plans to open three new flagship stores next year in Sheffield, Leicester and Liverpool, with a total of 15 new stores slated to open in the next five years.

Flannels’ upcoming Liverpool store is set to open in autumn next year and will span 120,000 sq ft across seven floors, as well as the chain’s first beauty hall.

Frasers Group’s head of elevation Michael Murray said: “We recognise Liverpool as a powerhouse of culture and style – it’s a symbiotic home for Flannels.

“While the idea of the ‘regional divide’ is dead, we recognise that communities are welcoming exciting, much-needed additions to their high streets with open arms.

“Liverpool is the fifth-largest retail centre in the country and, in our opinion, underserved – we’ll be the first and only multi-category destination to mark the city.

“The market has an unmatched appetite for the type of luxury we do best; we’re incredibly excited to deliver a world-class experience to the city and have no doubts on the success of our strategy.”

Each of the retailer’s new stores will be more than 30,000 sq ft in size and comprise its luxury and contemporary clothing range alongside new offerings including a beauty hall, a gym and a restaurant.

Flannels was the jewel in the crown of Frasers Group’s interim results earlier this month, driving a 4.8% uplift in sales across the group’s premium lifestyle division to £320m.

The luxury retail group’s expansion will be spearheaded by Frasers Group’s Murray.

Flannels currently operates 40 stores across the UK, five of which have opened since September.
