Promotion is deal with Air Berlin
German discount retailer Lidl is to sell flights at each of its 390 stores across the UK from Tuesday after linking up with budget airline Air Berlin.

The move comes as Lidl joins other supermarkets in diversifying its offer and moving into new sectors.

The flights are from UK airports and the promotion will last for a week from September 5.

Lidl company director Tony Parker said: 'This is a first for retailing in the UK and we are absolutely delighted to be expanding our existing range of weekly offers. Not only are we making air travel more accessible, we are making it even cheaper.'

The chain will be selling flights that depart from Stanstead, Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast and Bournemouth. Flight destinations include Milan, Rome, Copenhagen, Majorca and Vienna.
