Launch pad - Peoplesoft purchase

PeopleSoft has secured the acquisition of JD Edwards for US$1.8 billion (£1.13 billion) to create the world's second largest ERP vendor. On the same day, enterprise systems specialist Alphameric snapped up merchandise planning and decision support software house Compass for£9.1million.
