Centros has been given the nod to develop a £150 million mixed use scheme in Lancaster city centre.

Lancaster City Council has granted its approval for the scheme, Castle View, which will bring 320,000 sq ft (29,730 sq m) of retail space to the city centre.

Debenhams has already signed for a 97,500 sq ft (9,060 sq m) anchor store in the centre.

The scheme will also create 40 retail units, an 800-space multi-level car park and a residential area.

The developer hopes to be on site by the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011 and expects to complete the centre by 2013.
