B&Q/Castorama makes fastest ever transglobal trip for a solo sailing vessel
The Kingfisher-sponsored trimaran skippered by British sailor Ellen MacArthur became the fastest solo sailing boat on the planet late last night. MacArthur sailed the boat, B&Q/Castorama, around the world in 71 days and less than 15 hours, beating the previous record set by Frenchman Francis Joyon by more than a day.

The 75 ft (22.9 m) vessel was specially built to take MacArthur the (35,405 km) 22,000 miles around the world as fast as possible. DIY giant Kingfisher launched the boat just over a year ago in Sydney, Australia.
