Property consultancy King Sturge has bought retail property specialist Leslie Furness, in an effort to bump up its retail credentials.

The£3 million deal will see the six former directors of Leslie Furness become partners of King Sturge. James Hall and Tim Hance will take up senior positions in the professional and agency teams respectively and the full team of 17 will relocate to King Sturge’s West End headquarters.

Leslie Furness’ retail clients include Land Securities, River Island, Arcadia, Waterstone’s, HMV, Vision Express and Boots, while King Sturge’s include Natuzzi, Multiplex and Modus.

King Sturge head of UK in-town retail markets Charles Miller said: “By combining forces we will become a significant player within the sector, with a proven track record on delivery of high-profile projects.”

Schemes the firms are involved with include Eden at High Wycombe, Whitefriars in Canterbury, the Victoria Quarter in Leeds, Northern Quarter in Dublin and Delamere Place in Crewe.
