Non-executive director to complete term in July
Marks & Spencer non-executive director Jack Keenan is to retire from the board after the company's AGM on July 10.

Keenan will have completed his two three-year terms as non-executive director. He will be succeeded by Louise Patten as Remuneration Committee chairman with immediate effect.

M&S chairman Lord Burns said: 'On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Jack for his service, contribution and commitment to Marks & Spencer during the past six years and for his chairmanship of the Remuneration Committee since July 2004.'

Keenan was appointed to the M&S board in 2001. Previously he was chief executive of Grand Cru Consulting, deputy chief executive of Guinness UDV and a board member at Diageo. He is also non-executive director of Tomkins, The Body Shop and Amphora Fine Wine Fund.

Patten was appointed to the M&S board in February 2006. She is non-executive chairman of Brixton, a non-executive director of Bradford & Bingley and a senior adviser to Bain & Co.
