Canadian fashion retailer Joe Fresh, part of the Weston family-owned Loblaws group, is eyeing expansion into the UK.

Joe Fresh is on the hunt for British stores as part of an international expansion programme, following a Manhattan opening in March.

The retailer already sells through 300 concessions in Loblaws and other stores in Canada, as well as 12 standalone shops.

It is understood Joe Fresh is looking at central London locations including Oxford Street and that property agents PBS and Capita Symonds are acting for the retailer.

Joe Fresh aims to build its international presence, including the addition of 700 concessions in US department store giant JC Penney from next April. The retailer has six US stores at present, in New York and New Jersey.

Joe Fresh is headed by Canadian entrepreneur and Club Monaco boss Joseph Mimran.

The arrival of Joe Fresh would be the latest in a line of US entrants into the UK market including Victoria’s Secret, Forever 21 and Abercrombie & Fitch.
