The revised offer will be discussed by workers at a mass meeting on Monday and put to the ballot, according to the GMB. The union is recommending that members accept the offer and, if successful, all future strikes will be cancelled.
Workers at JJB had planned three consecutive days of strike action, to begin next Tuesday, to support the ongoing dispute over pay and working conditions.
The GMB said that many of the strikers earn little more than the national minimum wage of£5.35 an hour, before bonuses. Union negotiators are seeking a higher basic rate of pay for staff and are calling for equal access to a bonus scheme.
GMB officials have also complained that employment agencies supplied staff illegally during previous strikes by the Wigan workers.
A union spokesman said: 'The Employment Agencies Standard has been in to investigate three agencies that supplied workers during the strikes. If found guilty, the agencies could face fines of up to£5,000 for each agency staff member they supplied.'
The union has also accused JJB founder Dave Whelan of overturning an agreement that had been reached between the union and the retailer's chief executive Tom Knight.
