JJB Sports has reduced the time to produce reports by up to half following an IT infrastructure implementation.

Servers have been replaced and an Oracle database migration has been performed by Torex. The project took place with minimal downtime and no reported impact on JJB’s wider user base.

The new servers are running JJB’s existing Torex merchandise management system and business intelligence tools. They have also been connected to the retailer’s existing storage area network.

JJB Sports IT director Mark Macauley said: “We have already seen performance improvements from moving to the new solution platform, with reporting tasks now 25 to 50 per cent faster to complete. The management team has rapid access to information.”

Macauley added: “Access to accurate and timely information on merchandise sales, stock levels and store performance is crucial to making the right management decisions.”
