Retail division underperformed in March and April
Clothing retailer Jacques Vert has warned that its full-year profit will be well below market forecasts.

The company said that its retail division had performed badly during March and April, which is traditionally a period when Jacques Vert generates a high percentage of its sales.

Seymour Pierce analyst Rhys Williams said: 'We cut our [pre-tax profit] estimate for this year from£5.5 million to£3.25 million and for next year bring our expectations down to£5 million from£7 million.'

The retailer operates four brands - Jacques Vert, Planet, Windsmoor and Precis, as well as a wholesale business.
