Walmart plans a roll-out of its smallest format stores. US chief executive Bill Simon told an investor conference that its 12,000 to 15,000 sq ft Walmart Express stores, in locations including Chicago and North Carolina, are performing ahead of expectations. Walmart has 10 of the stores, which include grocery and pharmacy in a convenience store.
