Tesco is to start selling its products in Spain after striking a wholesale deal with department store retailer El Corte Inglés.

The grocer will sell products including tea, biscuits and cereals through the Spanish retailer, according to the Guardian.

Tesco will also sell 48 El Corte Inglés product lines in the UK, including sherry vinegar and olive oil.

The retailer will stock the items in its stores in Brighton, Birmingham, Cambridge and Edinburgh following a successful trial in London last year.

Tesco launched its wholesale operation less than four years ago and has since expanded into more than 20 international markets including India.

Tesco said: ”We’re always looking to offer customers new and exciting products as part of our world food range.

“We’re currently trialling products from El Corte Ingles in a small number of store and are looking forward to seeing how customers respond.”
