SPAR in Switzerland has entered into a partnership with A H Meyer & Cie AG, to launch a new convenience concept, SPAR express at AVIA petrol stations. The first outlet opened in Zurich last week, with a second opening due this week. The SPAR express stores have a sales area of 1,292 sq ft (120 sq m) open seven days a week until 10pm, with some opening until 12pm, and focuses on fresh food. If the concept proves successful more AVIA forecourt shops will be converted into SPAR express stores.
