Troubled parent and baby specialist Mothercare Australia has launched a Sale at its branches, offering discounts of up to 40% as it tries to save itself from closure.

The retailer, which entered administration in January, will run its Sale “in conjunction with the administrators’ continuing efforts in negotiating a sale of the business as a going concern”, according to a statement from administrator BRI Ferrier.

The retailer has closed 18 of its 43 stores since entering administration, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
