The outlets will reside within branches of SM Retail and Our Home department stores. The openings follow its launch three years ago in South Korea, where it has stores in department store chain Shinsegae.

The Philippines stores will be between 300sq ft and 1,000 sq ft and are due to open this summer.

“The success of our partnership with Shinsegae has given us the confidence to continue our expansion in the international market,” said Andy Street, managing director at John Lewis.

“We are actively looking for more international partnerships, and expect to make more announcements about our international plans in the next year.”

John Lewis said it will sell a “wide range” of own-brand home products including bed, bath, tableware and home accessories, such as candles and photo frames.

The news comes after the department store group already revealed plans to open shops in three branches of Singapore department store Robinsons. The openings provides the retailer access to a new emerging market, according to Street.
