AS Watson’s parent, Hutchison Whampoa, has reported sales for its retail division grew 8% to HK$57.5bn (£4.63bn). EBIT increased 52% (54% in local currencies) to HK$2.8bn (£226m). The group reported weak consumer sentiment in some of its operating markets, but attributed the profit improvement to top line growth through organic expansion and continuing to control costs.
