Grocery giant Leclerc reported first half-year sales in its domestic market up 8.3% to j15.21bn (£11.93bn), excluding fuel.

Total sales for the first half increased by 8.1% to j20.47bn (£16.06bn), including fuel. Company president Michel-Édouard Leclerc said the results showed a consolidation of its “low-price positioning, which is not only a communication image but a reality”.

Performance also benefited from the expansion of non-food concepts.
