Gap has revealed it is to open its first standalone store in Mexico as part of a wider expansion in Latin America. The shop, which will be in Interlomas Mall, Mexico City, builds on Gap’s store-in-store concepts in Liverpool Department stores in the region.

Gap managing director of strategic alliances Stefan Laban said: “A standalone store is the natural next step for expanding our presence in the country.

“Consumers responded positively to our initial product offerings in Mexico, so we believe there is tremendous opportunity for us in the market for this store and beyond.”
